My therapeutic style is a collaboration between client and counselor. I employ an integrative approach that is driven by student need. 我倾向于以解决方案为中心, 行为, 认知行为 和现实治疗技术 when working with clients. I enjoy empowering students through Psychoeducation and skill building. I believe all behavior has purpose and work with the client to identify the underlying motivation behind the (maladaptive) behavior. I focus on building rapport with clients by utilizing humor when appropriate and maintaining a non-judgmental perspective.
My supervision style is similar to my therapeutic style. I utilize an integrative approach that is driven by the needs of the supervisee. I place an emphasis on case conceptualization, theoretical orientation and self-care and wellness.
My professional interests include eating disorders and body image concerns, 危机干预, working with individuals in abusive relationships, LGBTQIA和创伤.
The groups I am facilitating are Stress-Less, Lifeline, Beating Stress and Beating Depression. I am also chair of the SSU Eating Disorders Awareness Committee, which operates in conjunction with the National Eating Disorders Awareness (NEDA) campaign.
I graduated from 肖尼 State University with my Bachelor's Degree in 心理学 and my Master's in Mental Health 咨询 from Lindsey Wilson College.
I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, sewing and redoing furniture.
My therapeutic style is based in collaboration between counselor and client where the client is viewed as the expert in their own life and experiences. I employ an integrative approach that is primarily based in Feminist theory and integrates Solution-Focused, 认知行为, 和现实治疗技术. My primary focus is empowering students to advocate for themselves by providing them with psychoeducation, 练习健康的沟通技巧, and aiding them in building upon their unique personal strengths.
My professional interests consist of working with victims of trauma, 应对慢性疾病, 危机干预, LGBTQIA +问题, 和neurodivergence, 包括多动症和自闭症. I enjoy working with people from various social and cultural backgrounds and strive to create an inclusive and safe space to explore all facets of identity.
I am currently facilitating the Trans* Talks group for Trans and non-binary students on campus.
I received my Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Ohio University with a specialization in clinical mental health counseling in May of 2020. I’m also a graduate of 肖尼 State University and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2018.
I love hiking, kayaking, and anything that allows me to connect with nature. I am passionate about Appalachian culture and social issues. I have an avid interest in astrology and also enjoy reading, 玩舒适的电子游戏, 看动漫.
